Read, Read, Read but don't forget to breathe

Alas, I have fallen prey to the truth that there may be far too many good books to be read and not enough time in the 365 days of year life that fly by. Although I did petition God recently about adding to that number to even it out to a well rounded 400 but my kids complained that it made their birthdays too far apart...so I quickly gave up on that and decided to learn to speed read.
Have you ever tried speed reading a 500 page novel? FYI, not a suggestion I can make due to the headspinning dizzy reaction of my eyes not being able to catch up with my brain, retention- what? I can't even remember the name of the book.

Finding a perfect place to read

Stealing some time in the morning with a cup of coffee and a good book before you start your day.

I am sure that all of us NEED this serene outdoor bedroom for some perfectly relaxed and quiet reading time.

The perfect excuse to bathe twice a day!

Sabatical retreat in the woods with a hammock-need I say more

Reading in bed can still be one of the best spots to get wrapped up in a novel.

Getting comfortable on a cold winter's evening with a hot cup of tea and good book in front of a warm fire.
This is my personal favorite spot to read for reasons such as the warm sun, the tranquil sound of the waves, and the fact that we were on vacation:)

The Story of a Marriage

Our first book club read for the rapidly approaching end of summer is a short novel (195 pages)written by Andrew Sean Greer. The story is set in the Sunset District of San Francisco in the early 50's during an era still freshly tasting of war and politcial and racial repression. The main character is a woman named Pearlie Cook who finds herself questioning her marriage and whether she knows her husband at all after a stranger knocks on her door.
